Chassis

Seperating the engine from the chassis was a relatively easy procedure. After lifting the body from the frame and removing it for storage, the chassis was scraped, cleaned and painted. The frame was straight and no repairs or welding were needed.

At this point, with everything accessible, the brake calipers were rebuilt and new pads were installed. The steering column was repacked and the clutch pressure plate was replaced. (A new Triumph pressure plate on Ebay which fit was $10).

The suspension and springs were removed and repainted at this point. Only one spring was correct when she was delivered. I found the replacement spring from another local Lotus owner who was parting out a project. (Thanks, John.)
