The management step is where leaders
hand the big goals over to the managers
Sometimes leaders design the projects and impose them on managers and employees.
I can understand why. Designing projects is the fun part if you are a creative, hands-on type.
Projects are where the strategic plan becomes tangible services, programs and collection development. However,
unless the library is tiny, leaders who interfere with the work of their managers
and employees can destroy morale and breed apathy and cynicism.and the library employees. Managers and employees create projects that will achieve the goals of the strategic plan and ultimately, accomplish the mission/vision statement. The management step
creates
projects
to meet the strategic plans's goals. |
